Materials Camp - Minnesota Chapter of ASM
For over 10 years, the Minnesota Chapter of ASM International has conducted a Materials Camp for high school students with the goal of increasing the interest of talented high school students in science and engineering. The camp is a hands-on engineering experience for the students with a format based on a program developed by ASM International. The Minnesota camp is four days and is held at the University of Minnesota in June each year at no cost to the selected students.
The camp has more than 20 unpaid volunteers who teach courses and mentor the students. There are more details on the camp on the web at: http://camp.mnasm.org/
The camp budget includes the cost of supplies, food, and transportation for a field trip. We receive some financial support from ASM International, but rely on corporate and individual donations for most of the camp funding.
You can help support this camp by making an online donation using the form below. Online transactions will be processed through PayPal. If you you prefer to send a check, you can use the form and then select "offline" payment. The payment info will be sent to the provided email address. Thank you.
We are also looking for volunteers that might be able to support this endeavor by lecturing or acting as a mentor. Many companies support the camp by providing paid time for their employees to assist with this camp.
